Delighted to have my image of Chanelle McCoy from a while back at The g Hotel & Spa used as the front page image on The Business Post. Every photographer loves having their images published but to have one used on the front cover, well that’s particularly pleasing. Another image was also used to accompany the main Sunday interview. The Business Post is a publication that appreciates good photography and in particular Bryan Walshe who is the picture editor there.
I’ve been lucky enough to have quite a few images published in The Business Post via Bryan and he is always clear, concise and passionate about the type of imagery that is required.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Chanelle McCoy a friendly, patient, elegant lady and a very shrewd businesswoman. The g Hotel & Spa in Galway is not your run of mill hotel and offers a great location for a photo shoot. I decided to use a single location so as not to disturb any other guests in the hotel. The Grand Salon has a silver wall which was perfect for a background and the brief was essentially elegance combined with business.
Time is always a factor on such shoots you need to spend enough time getting what you need but you also need to realise that the person in front of your lens won't necessarily have all the time in the world. So it's always a good idea to have a plan in place before your subject arrives in front of your camera, previsualisation, a little scouting will help the shoot go smoothly, prepare, prepare, prepare.
The adage is true time is money when it comes to the world of business.
The majority of the images were shot with an 85mm lens, a lens I’m becoming particularly fond of. A big thanks to Leanne McCafferty (Marketing Manager) and the folks at The g Hotel & Spa for being so welcoming and hospitable.
