Recently we were commissioned by The Galway Technological Centre based in Galway City. A Hub for small to medium sized start-up companies and the like in the technology sector. In conjunction with Expleo who are a global engineering, technology, and consulting service provider that partners with leading organisations to guide them through their business transformation, helping them achieve operational excellence and future-proof their businesses. The brief for the event required dynamic corporate pr images for use on social media platforms, website and trade and media publications. Photoshoots of this nature require a broad range of images to be captured within a tight timeline. As a professional photographer you are required to produce excellent photography whilst being able to work under pressure. It’s super important to be prepared turning up fifteen minutes before the scheduled shoot time is always a good idea. We all pre plan in our heads what we are going to do previsualisation as it were, but the reality of the location more often than not does not fall into place with our pre planned ideas. When a shoot of this nature starts rolling there will always be suggestions from the subjects in relation to the creation of images and in some cases they can be helpful other times it’s important to remember you are there for your expertise so be confident in your approach.
The shoot started at the top of a stairway, flowed to the bottom of that stairway and then out the main door to the front of the building. Experience and little scouted helped me in a huge way to get off the a great start I was confident in my approach which in turn made my clients trust what I was doing. The fact that I was also quick, years of experience doing pr event photography allowed us to utilise a second location in Eyre Square, Galway City.
Again here at this location working fast with speed of thought is key, being in a public place it’s not a controlled environment. You do not want your clients becoming self-coconscious about being photographed in public and any attention that they made receive from third parties.
Great PR Event Photography requires speed of thought, creativity combined with efficiency and excellent communication skills. With those attributes every photoshoot of this nature will be a success and you will have a happy client as was the case here.
