Applegreen have installed the first own brand EV chargers in Ireland at Applegreen Birdhill, Co. Tipperrary.
Luckily enough for me the weather was on my side albeit the available light was very flat due to a large covering of cloud. But any day that you don’t have to battle the elements particularly rain is a good day. Photographers who work in sunny climates, how lucky they are, mind you bright sunshine will bring its own challenges also.
The brief was to capture images that would be used for investor relations and public relations activity, such as a press launch, presentations, press releases, annual report, website etc. My subjects were Chief Development Director of Applegreen along with the service station manager and the EV (Electric Vechicle) chargers.
Whilst on the way to the shoot thinking about how I would approach the images I realised the point of view or POV would be particularly important, shoot from a high vantage point and juxtapose (love that word makes me feel smart) counteract that with a low vantage to create interesting imagery. With these type of shoots you don’t have a huge amount of time. You have to remember that they are busy businessmen and the last thing they need is a photographer dragging out their day. A good twenty minutes is usually a luxury, but all subjects including the EV chargers participated fully. I manged to work the location as best I could and was happy with the images I got and most importantly so was the client.
