Dillon Photography was recently commission by a Galway Businessman and Property Developer who in conjunction with the housing body Tuath launched first ever Cost rental Homes in Galway City. The Development is for 102 residential units being a mix of Apartments, Duplex and Semi-detached houses together with car park spaces on a four acre site owned by Tom Coyle. Tuath Housing Body is understood to have agreed terms with Mr Coyle to acquire the entire development. Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien visited the site on Monday 19th of February to launch the Development. Minster Darragh O’Brien was delighted to announce as part of the development the provision of 26 cost rental units, a first ever in Galway, as part of the 102 residential units being constructed by the Developer. The Development is expected to be completed by Summer 2025.
Minister Darragh O’Brien praised the Developer and his professional team for the vision, efficiency and architectural merit of the overall development which is energy A rated. A good win for Galway.
Other local dignitaries included The Mayor of Galway City Eddie Hoare TD. along with other local politicians, business people and relevant stake holders.
The brief was to capture as many natural reportage images combined with more formal groups including the traditional sod turning photograph which is normally performed at these events. Photographs were required for local and national newspapers along with relevant trade and social media platforms.
A corporate pr event such as this moves at a quick pace and you need to be tuned into what’s happening around you or important moments can be missed if you are not paying attention as the official photographer. As the official photographer you must be able to take command of the event at particular times ensuring that you get the required imagery for your client as well as the desired photographs that picture editors require.
